This may be viewed as a neat thing for the casual sit at home fan, however for those of us who actually step up and buy tickets it is unfortunate. The conflict means less ticket sales at Barclay's; not good for a team that is trying to stake out ground in the NYC market. We need this market both for recruiting and as a justification to be an inviting conference target. In short, it appears UConn, despite its expensive branding efforts, makes all the wrong decisions. Translation, not the smartest leaders.

Sigh, I'll be on a cruise in the Carribbean. 2nd year in a row they have a big ESPN game when I go on a cruise. At least last year the game was on Saturday, the day I got back. No such luck this time. Can't remember if they had ESPN on satellite.

Yes, over 5 straight hours of national TV for UConn FB and BB is by far the dumbest thing anyone could have thought of.

ESPN pays for the rights to carry UConn FB and basketball and If I'm not mistaken they get to set the times and on what channel.

It's like a 5+ hour infomercial for UConn athletics. At a time where we are in the, gulp, AAC, we need as much exposure as possible and back to back broadcasts are perfect. Yes let's put the FB game on ESPN3 the night before.

By the way . Have you EVER posted anything positive about UConn? Can't remember ever seeing anything.

For the 30k (generous) at the Rent, of which I will be one, and the 10k+ (hopefully more) at the Barclays, this sucks. However, for the rest of Husky nation? It's a great thing.

this is pretty much the opening day of college basketball now, and this will be one of the featured games, I don't get the griping.

Look, Nov. 8 will be an epic UConn sports day. Everyone needs to get over it. If you are going to support your favorite Husky program, that's the best thing you can do as a fan. Everyone has DVRs and WatchESPN now. I'm happy that ESPN thinks they can make money dedicating so many hours to UConn programming on 2 channels on 1 evening.

I have tickets. Hopefully will be able to use them...if not, will be watching for sure and will probably keep the TV on for UConn football.

If the football team gets good crowds during the year, I'll probably be at Barclays! I've been wanting to go to that arena.

We might not like the fact that we have a football game right after a basketball game in or near CT, but the fact we get a doubleheader for basketball AND football is something we MUST take advantage of and show up in large numbers. I am sure some already have but keep spreading the word we need support in football. Our football program has grown immensely.

And F the AAC.

The school really needs to provide/offer incentives and services (like transportation for students and bus trips to NYC for average fans) for both events to make sure that we have a great showing in both locations.

The football game needs to be sold out no matter what it takes. I'm hoping we are surprisingly good and that takes care of itself.

Yes.

Lots of variables that might not be known until right before game time such as weather, but no excuses for the school and the athletic department for not making it logistically convenient, fan friendly and turning the night in to a night for all things UConn.

I'm not sure UConn brings more than 1,000 people to Barclays and that is being generous.

I can't fault UConn for taking the game at all due to ESPN2 exposure and a name opponent, but with a home football game that night the vast majority of ticket buying fans will be there. Not to mention unless you live in NYC there's no way you're getting to BK for a 6:30 tip.

I would say no big deal, UConn will put the hoop game on the scoreboard, but they said that for Michigan state only to cut away to pre game video of the marching band.

Again, great for tv exposure, horrible for the fans that try to buy tickets and see the team.
