UCONN WNBA PLAYER UPDATES: Diana Taurasi, Sue Bird, Breanna Stewart, Napheesa Collier, Crystal Dangerfield, and Renee Montgomery
Diana Taurasi is averaging 5.9 free throw attempts per game in 2020 (through 17 games) compared to 5.6 in her All-WNBA campaign in 2018. She’s actually attempting more on a per-36 minute basis in 2020 (7.5) than she did in 2018 (6.8).
Speaking of Taurasi, she currently has 8898 career points, 102 away from becoming the first player to reach the 9000-point barrier (she was the first to reach 7500 career points and 8000 career points).
In addition to being ranked #1 on the list of career points, Taurasi also ranks #1 in career made field goals, #1 in career made three-point baskets, and #1 in career made free throws. Taurasi is also 55 assists away from becoming the fourth player to reach 2000 career assists (Sue Bird ranks #1, with 2879 career assists and counting).
Finally, Taurasi became just the 7th player in WNBA history to have at least 450 career steals and at least 300 career blocked shots.
