Not the best news from our NBA friends last night

Andre: relegated to the end of the bench again. DNP-CD against the Clippers and 2 minutes last night

Hawkins: 5 points on 1-7 shooting

Castle: Not sure if there was anything going on here but only got 13 minutes? Balled out in those minutes with 12 points, which was more points than starters CP3, Vassell, Harrison Barnes combined. 15 point loss so why not put in the guy averaging 1 point per minute?

If I’m the Spurs and Wemby is out the rest of the year and the season is shot, and I see Wemby/Steph/Fox trio as my franchise’s future, I may not be putting him out there a ton

I suspect they’ll shut Fox down too soon to fix his fingers

It'd be sad if that was the case. The Spurs are 3 games out of the play-in. It's a long shot without Wemby but you just traded for a 25 PPG All Star level player

Risk of injury is real, but if you're trying to build a dynasty when Wemby comes back next year, then I think it's better to have your guys compete and try to fight for a reachable playoff spot instead of giving up and teaching them to lose

If they do shut down Fox, I'd go the opposite way and give Stephon 30+ minutes a game to have him develop into as good a player as possible for when Fox/Wemby come back next year

Yeah limiting/shutting down a rookie who needs valuable minutes and reps to get better wouldn’t be very ideal.

The Spurs are acting like they're one step away from being a championship contender, they haven't been relevant since Manu retired.

The Spurs trading for Fox was a bit of an overreaction. Castle should be starting, let him be the go to guy and let him learn through his rookie mistakes.

The Spurs made out like bandits getting Fox, awesome trade for them.

What’s the story behind AJax not starting for the Bucks recently?
did you see the All-Star dunk contest????? Just kidding - they traded over him for Kuzma

Another rough game for Steph (though he barely played....Wemby is OFS, and Castle plays....less?). 4 points, 4 boards, 3 TO's in not even 12 minutes of play. If the Spurs want to tank for Flagg, they don't also have to tank Steph's ROY campaign. Yeesh.

He was in foul trouble last night

Some crazy numbers from Cam.

Ajax minutes practically hitting zero of late, Doc publicly stating they’re gonna mix it up and go in another direction feeling like they have a better chance of winning with others.

It’s too bad with him given how talented he is. Sucks he hasn’t been able to develop any offensive game to speak of even with the NBA coaching. He’ll have a place in the league for the defense, but always gonna be a specialist off the bench at the current rate.

RE: Castle, I think the Spurs want to lose as many games as possible from now on. I would not be surprised if he becomes "injured" soon and is ruled out for season.

Not sure why you say that? BY has some weird takes. He just played a couple days ago against Houston and led the team with 30 minutes while having 22 Points, 7 Rebounds, 5 Assists and 3 steals. The reason for the 12 minutes the game before as posted by another poster was he was in foul trouble. San Antonio wants Steph to keep developing his game and playing good minutes as it will be beneficial for next year when Wemby is back and will strengthen his on the court bond with Fox.
