This doesn't need to be in the general NBA thread. I figured this would be a good place to keep track of our guys in the minors.

As of today, we have 4 player on rosters:
  • Amida Brimah - Austin Spurs, 9 rebounds in 13 minutes in his first game. However, the 0 to 6 assist-to-turnover ratio may bother some here.
  • DeAndre Daniels - Erie BayHawks, averaging 8 PPG/6 RPG over two games. Not shooting too well, he's gone 1-5 and 5-14 from the field in each.
  • Daniel Hamilton - Oklahoma City Blue (2-way deal with OKC Thunder), 18.5/7.5/5.5 over two.
  • Rodney Purvis - Lakeland Magic, 20 points in his debut followed up by 31 and 7 tonight.
Regardless of everyone's thoughts on their UConn careers, if one of them can work their way into an NBA contract (not the usual route for our alums, but it is quite possible) that's nothing but a good thing for the program.

Wow, if Rodney keeps it up he could make the Magic somewhat quick. If i’m not mistaken, the Magic don’t have a deep roster of guards, so he’s got a shot.

D Ham will be up sooner or later, has been putting up numbers since he started.

Always thought that Purvis’ role in the NBA could be to bring defensive energy for 6 minute stretches. This scoring outburst is pleasantly surprising

Forgot about him - Marcus Williams on the Reno Bighorns as well.

Emeka is starting at center for them and average 7.5/12.5. Williams started the Bighorns' opener but didn't do so well, 1-5 shooting in 23 minutes.

You’d got to think DHam and Rodney have a shot. Those numbers are pretty ridiculous.

Rodney's game is much better suited in the spacing of the NBA. Loved watching those highlights.
Yea wow. Those highlights were eye opening. Rodney, despite his obvious physical abilities, always seemed so stiff on offense. It looks like he's tightened up his handle a bit, and added more elevation to his jump shot. He was always great on defense, but now he's looking the part on offense. Pulling for him!

I watched RP last night - he started out slow as did his whole team but he heated up.
On the court he looked like the same old RP in his motions but his game is much more suited to the NBA style game - he, for some reason, is a hard guard for lots of folks - but it is the G league and not the league.
I love the kid because he truly bleeds husky blue
DHam is very impressive. Too bad the kid was not into school.

Amida Brimah | C | Austin Spurs

The 23-year-old Ghana-born center never blossomed at UConn like scouts had hoped, but at 6-11 with a 7-6½ wingspan and impressive defensive range, Brimah has a role at the NBA level. Although his hands, rebounding, and overall feel for the game are still a work in progress, his ability to lob, catch and protect the rim isn't lost among NBA scouts. Brimah is an NBA-caliber shot-blocker and is likely to look more comfortable in an open, free-flowing game.

I agree with what you're saying and he also looks more confident and aggressive offensively. Just from those clips.

Very true. Sadly, if AB does well, Uconn won´t really be able to take credit for helping him to ¨blossom¨..
