No word yet on which pitcher will start the game. I'm guessing Colby Dunlop.
It would be a nice opportunity for the young man. It would be great to see him put in 6+ solid innings.

If Dunlop pitches, I think 5 innings would be about the max, and that might be pushing it. He just hasn't put in the innings to build up his arm strength to go all that deep into a game. That's a problem with all the midweek postponements, pitchers like Dunlop and Simeone haven't gotten that time to throw many innings and build up their arms. Of course, the rainouts have helped give a staff rest that was needed from too many injuries, so there are two sides of that coin.

Holy Cross has legit weekend starting pitching, but cannot hit at all. They are not that different from Cincy.

Score early on their weaker midweek pitching, force their offense to play in an uncomfortably high scoring game and we have a good chance of winning.

Would have gone had things been permitting. Fun historic field to watch a game.

Is it safe to assume that if Dunlop is starting at least 1 of our 2 weekend pitchers is ready to go this weekend?

From what Chris Jones was saying this past weekend, it would seem that Chase Gardner will probably be back. Cate likely to still be out.

Top 1st, a ground ball out by Susi produces a run for UConn. A two out infield error makes it 2-0 UConn with 2 out.

Now lets see if Colby Dunlop has better control of his stuff this outing.

Chris Jones says that Feldstein should be back this weekend. Chase Gardner should be back as well.

Dunlop walks one batter, retires everyone else in the bottom of the 1st. 2-0 UConn.

Top 2nd, UConn scores a run on what seems like the Dead Duck play making it 3-0 Huskies. Moriarty follows with a double, so perhaps his horrible slump is over.

HC pitcher is a big boy with great stuff, but he has no command. Won't last. If I had his size I'd would have been pitching for the Yankees.

Please tell me Penders didn't try stealing a run by giving them an out stealing to get the run home from third with 2 on and no outs. Did he feel we were really struggling for runs at that point?

Chris Jones didn't say it was the Dead Duck play, but it sure sounded like it. Don't like it either, that early in the game. I will say that Moriarty was up, and his average is still way down.

I don't think it was planned - on the stream it looked like Nucerino? just got a bad jump and it played out from there.

After 2 easy innings Dunlop is in a bit of trouble in the bottom of the 3rd with bases loaded with 1 out. Rajkowski is warming up. Figure if Holy Cross starts scoring than Dunlop will be coming out.

Chris Jones said that after pitching Saturday and Sunday, Jake Wallace is not available today.
