Upsets in college hockey happen plenty. Crazy bounces make a difference more in hockey than most other games. We beat Providence 1.5 years before they win the national championship as members of the AHA.

It can't be overemphasized how much great goaltending can even the odds in hockey where in other team sports it has to be much more of a team effort to prevent scoring. In his career, Nicholls has kept us in so many games that we had no business being in due to our offensive efforts. This year he is still doing this but now it appears that we are starting to mount some good offense and getting some scoring on the power play. Also, to have two freshmen with a hat trick in separate games is amazing. This was an amazing win for this team. Magic at the XL center continues...
