UConn Hockey Classic Undergoes Big Changes

Sounds like Quinnipiac is dropping out this year. Not sure what is going on since Pecknold was a big proponent and McDonald made the announcement. apparently being replaced by UMass-Lowell. It is a pretty nice field, Lowell and Union are both really good teams, but it isn't exactly the same as the original concept...

That could be a big blow at the box office. Union and UML are the defending ECAC and HE champs so the quality of play should be first rate, but neither is a traditionally big draw. With Sacred Heart also being a non-entity at the box office (drawing a few hundred per game) and UConn just ramping up as a real D-I program, things could be bleak for the first year from an attendance perspective.

UCONN vs BC/BU at Fenway or Yankee Stadium in the near future?

What about a YALE/UCONN/QU/Sacred Heart hockey classic at Yale Bowl? That'd be cool to see

Call it "The Nutmeg"

UCONN-YALE-QUINNIPIAC-SACRED HEART from the XL Center in the state's capitol. It's so simple. Just DO IT.

$$$ and Tradition is what CT Hockey needs. Make it happen
