UConn was cruising and up by 18 at the half. But in 3rd quarter, Michigan outscored UConn 18-4 and ended Q3 down only 4. Syla Swords was incredible for Michigan. Michigan’s zone really stymied UConn and UConn went cold from everywhere. Azzi Fudd helped UConn expand the lead back some in 4th but Michigan rallied and got lead down to 2. UConn closed it out with free throws although Swords continued to hit some deep shots. Michigan is legit good and gave UConn all it could handle.

Wild finish. I don’t know if it’s just the long brown pony tail but Swords has moments where she looks like Caitlin Clark 2.0. Some insane 3s at the end. Fudd is a monster, that 9-0 in the 4th saved the Huskies. Michigan is quite solid though. I think they’re still a year and post player away from being a real title contender but their sophomore trio is excellent and they’re legit top 10.

You're reading my mind. Last night I was thinking that I could see a national title in the next two years if they can keep that sophomore trio and find a post player!

They have a top prospect coming in next season with the 2026 class.

Fope Ayo? I think she is one of those athletic project players who is going to take a few years to get adjusted. They need someone who can produce from day one, so I think a transfer is where they are more likely to find their starting post.

That's possible, but they also have Del Fosse and Dudley who was out last season I believe.

I wouldn't be surprised if (after the dust settles on freshmen recruits and the portal) Michigan is in the conversation for pre-season number 1 next year.
