UConn forced to change hotels according to SI

Yesterday it was reported the team moved Tuesday after NCAA had them booked at the Luxor.

See the Vegas thread starting on page 4.

I once had to change hotels in Deerfield Beach when the one I'd first made reservations for was infested with bed bugs. Nobody told me until I got there.

Luxor’s usual room rate is around 19.00 a night. It’s the pariah of the strip.

So what you're saying is the NCAA originally booked us in a hotel that makes Motel 6 look like the Four Seasons?

Yes. I stayed at Harrahs once. Also 19.00 a night (a work convention) and when I got in my room, there was a “recently used” tampon on the floor next to the bed.

I got a new room and 100.00 in chips for that one.

The Luxor was a dump-hole when I stayed there 20 years ago. It’s the Vegas equivalent of a Motel 6

Luxor and Excalibur next to it suck dirt. Uconn should be off strip to focus or just off like the waldorf.

Wherever they stayed, yes please, and more of it. If that helped get them pumped to dismantle Arkansas, let's hope it continues next round!

I spoke to someone at MGM and they offered the Aria for UConn but the NCAA chose Luxor. Which is by far the worst hotel of the 4 hotels the NCAA assigned teams to. Disrespected.

Perfect for a team playing the disrespect card for motivation.

Luxor is a dump. I saw rooms there for like $30/night the last time I went to Vegas. Why would they ever book there to begin with?
