l this largely within UCONN's control is performance. Winning will drive and increase the UCONN following and that, in turn, increases the odds that the next round of conference realignment will fall UCONN's way. We fans need to take our share of responsibility for this as well.
This is the most important piece. If we win -- especially if we win big games -- our conference affiliation, and everything else, will take care of itself.
As for fan support, that will happen as we grow and mature as a program. It's like taxes: you can't raise tax revenue by increasing tax rates, you can only raise tax revenue by growing GDP. The same goes for our fan base: we can't force traditions or complain about filling seats to watch the band or warm-ups, etc. If we provide a valuable product on the field and in the classroom and community, the demand will follow, the traditions will develop and our reputation as a program will continue to thrive.
