I posted this on the Conf. Realignment board as well...

In reading other schools fans comments, I see that UConn isn't mentioned as a desirable target very often. Some of that is all the bad press we've gotten lately but a lot of it is based on the idea that UConn football, well, sucks. So I put together a list of our 1A/FBS results and accomplishments. Given our short tenure, I think we've done well. So here's my talking points. Let me know if you think there are any major mistakes, or omissions.

To me the idea that "UCONN sucks" in football is pretty silly, given what you've posted above. Why exactly anyone would expect a team that has played 10 years as a full D1 member to have put up Penn State's record is beyond me. But I think in many ways, UCONN fans are our own worst enemy talking down the program...If you look at others that upgraded at the same time, th eonly one who is arguably better is Bosie State, bu they have actually been playing 1A football since 1996, and ran up many of their wins against pretty marginal competition...the biggest thing they have is signature wins. USF, another member of that class has maybe a better all overall record, but no conference titles and head to head we're 4-5 with 2 of their wins coming in Pre-big East days. If you followed UCONN football during the transition, you might remember that virtually everyone said it would be at least a decade before the Huskies put up a winning record, and longer before they ever even came close to winning the Big East. this is a program with a huge upside I suspect.
