1. Funky pep band playing fun stuff that makes people move
2. No more annoying "Another.....UConn first down".
3. Security too quick to tell people not to stand here and there, let it go when it's pleasant people standing still.
4. Close beer stands at the stated designated time instead of 10 minutes earlier. You have annoyed drunks begging for one more beer because you shut down early. Just exacerbates the drinking issue.

1. Baby Steps. More band music, period. I'd love for the band to play the 5-note UConn Huskies ditty after every 1st down. It'd be nice to get sick of it like SEC opponents hate hearing Rocky Top.
2. I don't mind the "Another UConn First Down," but put it on hiatus until attendance climbs to at least 70% average capacity. Being chanted by 9k in the third quarter of a home blow out is cheesy.
3. Out of UConn's control and it has gotten better since Spectrum Global took over, but there is still a lot of room for improvement.
4. Indifferent because it really doesn't effect me too much. I might nurse a beer or two inside the stadium, much cheaper to get your drink on before hand and use the game to bring your BAC down to 0.08. Annoying drunks are going to be annoying regardless of that $9 Two Roads $8 Bud Light at last call.

I mentioned the disincentive to purchase season tickets given that better seats are often available for less money leading up to the game. I’ll still buy but getting ripped off gets old.

That will always be the case when the build is half empty. This isn't pro sports.

I know that you realize that buying season tickets and donating is how you show support for the program beyond just attending games.

It's part of the big time college FB model. We may not have the booster depth as other schools but we can at least cough up a couple hunnid for tickets.

The stadium was not built on campus because the town of Mansfield wanted to keep the University at 1881. The issue was traffic and patterns. The state did step up and build a stadium. It IS amazing that the state actually did it considering how inept it is now.

The development was ambitious but the reason it hasn't happened is that those who want to build don't have the money and couldn't obtain financing to do their projects. There has been a shift in the building of malls, retail etc. I think Silver Lane needs to be developed before Rentschler Field area does-
Although Mansfield does have a bad case of the NIMBYs and is responsible for a lot of stupid decisions ( see for example, the failure of the proposed Pfizer partnership ), IIRC the reason why The on-campus stadium proposal failed is that the university got greedy with the pitch. Essentially, they asked for a stadium, Burton and Shenkman to be built all of the same time and out of state money. At the time husky fever was at a high. Had the University just pitched building the equivalent of the Rent it probably would have happened.

{Sigh} The stadium was not built on campus for the same reason BB games are played in Hartford. It is beciase to this day a significant portion of support for UConn and UConn athletics comes from the citizens of CT that are not connected to the school as alumni. People that live no where near Mansfield and would be highly disinclined to make that trip in the tens of thousands required to fill a FB stadium.

The donation of the land by UTC also helped as did not having to spend another couple hundred million on road improvements.

They made a call that made the most sense in terms of money and time when the decision was made. Neither choice was clearly better than the other.

Terrific idea. It's the one advantage they could actually offer season ticket holders. single game buyers [way cheaper price] would pay for parking actually an incentive to seasons.

I like this. One thing I put on the survey -- not sure if possible -- is to give season ticket holders a concessions voucher for each game. I know when I lived in DC and had friends who were Nats season ticket holders, each ticket would come loaded with $10-15 worth of concessions credit. Could be a nice perk for a season ticket holder.

I agree on the free Season ticket holders parking and wrote that one down as well

Also:
Don't mic the band
I also agree on learning new tunes

I mentioned some type of app/kiosk that rewards you for going to every game, before kick-off etc.

Resemble the kiosks at casinos.
Or make an app that you sign in when at the game to get pts / discounts.

You go to every game?
You in the stadium before kickoff?
You go to an away game?
Stay till the final whistle/horn?

Swipe a card (tickets could be on card w/above mentioned concession perk) and have stupid promos / games. Pick a husky head = Get a prize / discount.

I'm sure the initial screens/kiosks would be $$$, but may be worth it if you transfer them to Rent, XL, Gampel, etc.

Or a UConn ticket app that using your location will determine if and when you are at a game. Stay to the end? Go to multiple sports and to every game?

Better perks/discounts/priority pts

We could just skip the swiping and follow the Chinese state facial security system....coming to a brave new world everywhere

Nope. They weren't contemporary options. The house on campus stadium was pitched in the legislature and then rejected. Subsequent to that Pratt & Whitney offered up Rentschler Field.

Actually tonight for the UConn vs PC Hockey game. Won't be as bad cause maybe 3-4k will show.

Sat will be a mess

Tonight wasn't bad at all

The metal detectors are like 15-20 feet from the initial/outside atrium doors
(With huge lines, still sketchy and unsafe if someone really wanted to do something)

Phone, keys, change, charger, etc in bowl and walk thru.

I didn't try tonight, but I'm sure Non-metal nippers will work.

Long tables are gone and the ticket people scan your ticket right as you go in the actual coliseum

The issue was traffic and it would have required major road upgrades and costs to convey traffic from I-84 along Route 195 to the Storrs campus......for perhaps 6-7 games a year. It was too bad there wasn't a chunk of land at the I-84/Rte 195 intersection to build the stadium and supportive infrastructure. More convenient for students, easy on/off for highway traffic.

Also, there was a state representative in that area, who I think has now passed on, that wasn't very supportive of any type of UConn enhancements. especially when it came to sports. I even think she voted against either stadium in Hartford or E. Hartford

I’ve never understood the people who live in Mansfield but get pissed off by any university developments. Like there are dozens of rural Connecticut towns with no major universities. Live somewhere else.

I'd rather hear "another ......UConn first down" rather than fans acting like they aren't even paying attention. I think, in a way the players would appreciate a little acknowledgement of even the slightest successes.

Also, when the program first started there was a "cheer leading" individual that led opposite sides of the stadium in pregame chants "UConn......Huskies" or "Blue.......White". When I first heard this I was happy as I recalled (Prior to BCS) attending games at WVU with a WVU alumni. Pregame their fans would chant, on opposite sides of the stadium "Let's Go.......Mountaineers". If I was a player for either team, I would be fired up in the locker room hearing an engaged fans base before we entered the field.

LoL, I didn't know that but find humor in such things. Don't even want to know why. Seriously though, was he the only who could do that? Replace the convict here.
