UConn Football 2019 National Signing Day/Press Conference Coverage

And if we have 20 signees then I think we have one surprise name to expect. Could it be Gourdine? Overton? A grad transfer surprise like Art Thompson? Or someone like Matt Drayton that visited the program back in the fall and seemingly hasnt been involved with other programs since.
You called Drayton

Art Thompkins was with the first group of signees. So it looks like we have 2 to go, hopefully Rian Haigler and Kenny Logan. Then maybe we grab a grad transfer or late signee in the Spring.
FYI - I said "a grad transfer like Art Thompkins" Yes - its in the first group already.

Here are 19:

Waiting on #4 & #10 below to be confirmed and waiting for the mysterious final name to be determined. Is it Drayton or Gourdine or new name. Logan is apparently Kansas bound and Gourdine is rumored to be Tulane bound. Draytons recruiting has been quiet since he visited UConn in the fall.

Sorry the list below is not in a logical order.

1) Jack Zergiotis
2) Mike Beaudry (GD 2for2)
3) Art Thompkins (GD 1for1)
4) Cameron Ross
5) Ardell Brown
6) Kevens Clercius
7) Jayce Medlock (TE/WR)
8) Chase Lundt
9) Rayonte Brown
10) Rian Haigler
11) Eric Watts
12) Michael Hinton (GD 1for1)
13) Justin Moore
14) Jeff Woods
15) Dillion Harris (JR/JUCO)
16) Jackson Mitchell
17) Winston Jules
18) Malik Dixon
19) Myles Bell

So that would mean 20 and no Gourdine

unless Cameron Ross doesn't sign, which with the amount of WR's we've signed today I wonder if he still plans to be in Storrs or not.

Defensive guys. Bring on the defensive guys. We're desperate.

Ardell is a grad transfer so obviously not holding a long term roster spot. Signed WRs only include Clercius and Drayton so there is certainly a spot for Ross.

Has there ever been anything official on Rian Haigler?

Nope. Its educated speculation. And we will know the answer soon enough.

Doubtful for Haigler. His Instagram page says William & Mary ‘23.

His Twitter profile still has him coming to UConn

There must be some hidden talent out there with LB or TE after their names. The roster is frighteningly thin at both positions.

Ross’ twitter still has him in UConn gear as his profile pic.

E4, that might be your spot for Gourdine.

A ray of hope for DL help!

The reason Rian Haigler fit the narrative for so long is because his recruiting activity got quiet after his UConn offer. He also is at a HS school that didn't want kids to sign in December. Also, he gave me a follow on twitter (and many other UConn related people) and one last tidbit, last year Christian Haynes - another OL recruit from the same HS did not ever publicly commit to UConn until signing day. I figured with all those facts, Haigler was mirroring his former teammate Haynes by laying low.

Haigler would have been a good recruit for us with flexibility to play OG or C. If he is not coming, I could see us looking for OG help later this spring to keep the depth going.

In December Randy said they had more than one signee that he couldn’t announce. Assuming Ross is still one and Haigler is not the other, then who is? Did one of those announced this morning secretly sign 6 weeks ago?
