Well, they have 8 games to squeeze in each day.Does anyone else hate the tv schedule for today and tomorrow ? Two games before 5 each day is teririble.
It could be worse. They could all be in the same time slot and broadcast via the dreaded "wraparound coverage."Well, they have 8 games to squeeze in each day.![]()
Kemba or Boatright aren't walking through that door anytime soon. Now it's just using what you have. I guess that's why our pace is so slow and deliberate (5th slowest of all 68 tournament teams). All the off-ball action and it can't create shooting pockets like last year.I mean… he’s not wrong.
He is 50/50. McNeeley CAN create his own shot, he just misses a ton.I mean… he’s not wrong.
If the game is in the 60s we have a good chance to win. If it goes higher we're probably toast.UF isn't unbeatable but they are an offensive juggernaut that is hard to slow down. Clayton will launch from anywhere and the rest of the team handles/passes and shoots well. Their interior is deep and long and so their guards extend and invite rim attacks. And they want the pace to be exceedingly high.
That all said, they are also an extremely odd team in terms of who they played, or didn't. Their OOC is pathetic. They killed the SEC though but somehow lost to Missouri, UK, Tennessee and freaking Georgia.
UK shot the leather off the ball and UF didn't. Missouri got a lot of steals. Tennessee smothered them defensively and Georgia played the game of their lives. Even then Missouri and Georgia won by a single possession.
They are just a very solid team. Last year's UConn probably wins by a healthy margin but this year, it will take a very strong defensive effort, lots of good shooting and a ton of luck to win even a close one.
Just watched the Auburn game and was there something wrong with Broome during that game. He looked slow from the jump (and lazy). I know he had a good line but...
You could go tonight….I want to go to the game but the 12:10 game time and 6 hour drive from Atlanta makes it hard to do for me. Also $341 for a decent ticket.
Why should he be scared? It doesn't sound like he's scared at all.
I really do think this team thrives in this kind of environment. Yesterday was just sluggish against a sluggish opponent.
I'm very optimistic
Was it a cruise control thing?Florida jumped all over their 16 seed, but then didn't even cover.
Looks like 105 is the UConn section tomorrowDoes anyone know which part is the UCONN section. Thinking of going.
Absolutely. Was it a cruise control thing?
Wally nailed it. I have been saying this all year. When the play breaks down they have no one that can create off the dribble and improvise.
Especially the last part. Florida is great at offensive rebounding.Control the pace, make 3s, limit fouls, crash the defensive boards.
Does anyone else hate the tv schedule for today and tomorrow ? Two games before 5 each day is teririble.
One can only hope, hopefully it hurts Florida, at least cool them down some. The start time is good for me no waiting around for the game, when it’s over we have the rest of the day to recover and get plenty of sleep whether it’s a day of mourning or celebrating.I think the early start time actually helps UConn

Have to say I agree. We run good stuff but our personnel is lacking and on most sets we are playing 3 on 5. Hass is a non factor in the half court and our big is either a screener or point center 25 feet from the hoop. We run the high screens and hand off etc but the opposing big can just zone up. Our bigs are apparently unable to shoot and our three scorers coming off screens are challenged to put the ball on the floor or take a middy which they are at times reluctant to take. When it all bogs down, then Liam tries to be a hero or Hass takes a fall away airballeveryone keeps saying this, but i’m not so sure.
in past years maybe. but our offense doesn’t seem as difficult to guard this year.
especially if you have a big that you can park in the paint, and athletes that can switch every screen on the perimeter. which it seems like Florida has.
we will keep running these “elaborate” sets, when we should be playing a simple inside outside game thru reed anytime he is in.
