Just got it too. Bastards - a few more days notice would have been nice.

Maybe they could have done it on Alumni weekend when people might actually be on campus?

This is clear out all the old before the new logo stuff comes in - space issues :)

This is a thank you? A two and a half hour window for people to get what is left of a mascot that is way more popular than what is being shoved down our wallets! A notice that comes late in the afternoon on the day before?

I really wonder just how many season ticket holders that have a job live close enough to the campus find this to be a thank you.....

These people just keep shooting themselves in the paw........

And I bet you dollars to donuts that by game 1 at the Rent that the selection of new stuff will be pathetic. Bet they will not have the new football uney jerseys.

.-.
Here I am trying to figure out what to do with gear that has the former logo on it & they want me to buy more? Not happening.

If the athletic department REALLY wanted to Ingratiate itself with the season ticket fanbase, a better idea would be to send out an advance mailing from the UConn Co-Op in early June of their catalogue of items with the NEW logo & allow those fans to purchase fanware at a 30% discount using a special promocode. Make a promise that all orders received by July 15th would shipped along with season tickets. A $ 100.00 minimum would be required to receive the special pricing. ( I'd buy 15 teeshirts for my crew & a pop up tent with the new logo). If I can be this creative in marketing while sipping my breakfast java, why can't the A.D. think outside the box?

I am buying all I can of the old logo because I will never pay 1 cent for anything with the new logo. By the way, for those of you who spend all your money on the new logo atuff, I'd wait a few years when it goes on liquidation sale because they've come up with another new logo (or reverted back to the old one). I would also encourage those who don't like the new logo not to buy anything that has the new logo on it. Speak with your pocketbook.

You carry a pocketbook?

If you were a real UConn fan you wouldn't care what the logo looked like. You're choosing not to support the school in a time when we need all the fan support we can get.

I don't plan to buy any of the new stuff to replace the thousands of dollars I've spent over the years on the "old" stuff. That hardly means I no longer support the school, or the teams.

Get over yourself.
I went to the VIP sale at the old field house today and bought over $300 worth of stuff. As much as I could with the real Husky on it, but some with just UConn or a "C" on it. It was a pretty good deal financially. T-shirts $5, shorts $5, Polos $10, Jackets $20, Sweatshirt $10, Nike shoes $25, etc. The only problem was they let anyone in including students so it was not really a private VIP sale and was more like a middle eastern marketplace. I don't know if they will bring more stock out and try to organize everything again tonight or not, because stuff was getting all mixed up vis-vis size and item. For anyone going tomorrow bring cash so you can go right up and pay. The credit card line stretched from one end of the field house to the other. By the way, it was hot in there!

I support the school, but I do not support the carpetbaggers who would sell out our traditions to Nike. Do you think Harry Hartley would ever have changed the mascot? No. He understood the school and it's traditions. The clowns we have in there now don't. However, they will be gone in a few years and hopefully some sanity will return to the campus.

Are you serious? What "sanity" is lacking around campus? Is it the insane amount of money the state is putting into the school? Better get rid of that Government! Is it the insane movement led by our new president to get our school higher in research funding and academic prestige? Better get rid of that Susan Herbst. How about our AD who is insane in keeping this football and basketball program afloat by scheduling quality OOC games to make up for the lack of competition in our current conference situation? Better can Warde as well. Sorry but the only one who needs some sanity are the posts you keep spouting out around here. Don't like the logo? Congrats. Get over yourself, by your old logo gear, and get your @$$ into your seat at Gampel, the Rent, or the XL Center and cheer on our team like everyone else around here will, no matter the logo.

Good ol Harrry, who led the university to unprecedented mediums.

Ht also enjoys a bowl of hot, steaming oatmeal with a glass of tall, cool tap water to start every morning.

LOL. Can we not embarrass ourselves once, on anything? How shocking the CC line was long.

Harry was responsible for UConn 2000

I'm warming up to the new logo... But having the old logo wear the new logo... Looks a bit silly.

Actually a lot of people think of Yukon in other parts of the country when I mention UCONN. Unless someone follows college hoops they likely have no idea what UCONN is.

If they don't follow college hoops they are heathens anyway! 8-)
