Yeah who knows, the math for 32.45/7 = 4.64M which is pretty much exact same value as current contract. Maybe it's 32.45/6.5. Regardless it's a small bump from the previous deal.
It's a scalitoing bump. I was afraid our next deal would plummet. We are still valuable.

I was thinking 5 years. July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2023

There is indeed an argument to be made for that theory as the original 10 year contract was due to expire on June 30, 2018. All depends on "extension" language.

>>Nearly 30 percent of what UConn will take in from its new exclusive sponsorship agreement with Nike can be deposited in the bank. The UConn athletic department will have $9 million to use at its discretion. The remaining $23.45 million of the $32.45 million deal, which spans seven years, will be represented by uniforms, apparel, gear and equipment. The sponsorship agreement announced Wednesday — signed by UConn June 21 and Nike June 22 — was a five-year extension to an existing contract that was set to expire after the 2017-18 academic year.<<

Data point for future expansion talking points.

Arguably the most influential company who has no regard for conference affiliation or TV contracts saying what Uconn's worth is on the open market.

This wording is confusing me. I thought it was 6 years, but the article says both 7 years and 5 years. Can someone confirm which one it really is?

I'm curious how the next IMG contract looks. That may be more relevant for any conference expansion discussion.

The IMG deal is important, but the Nike deal is huge. It is an independent determination of brand value which is immediately recognizable to recruits.

Dear Nike,

Thank you for your generosity and continuing the business relationship. Imagine how lucrative and popular our brand would be if we were in The Big 10. Can you help get us there?

PAC is our way in. Just gotta have Herbst and Benedict corner Phil at the PK80.
