My fear is that with realignment off the table for maybe ever, there will be no urgency to improve football.

If they truly believe that they'd move football to independent status and the ballot programs to the Big East. (I am not a fan who believes this should happen FYI) That ain't happening so they aren't going to shun the football program. It'll be fixed, I hope.

ECU came in last in the country in redzone offense, lost 5 games in a row, had one sack on the year. Look like efffing world beaters today though.
