Top 5th, the leadoff hitter Shpur gets a bunt single on which he advances to 2B due to an error on the bunt. Minick with a 1 out sac fly. 4-3 USC going to the bottom of the inning.

Top 6th, the UConn offense goes down in order with 2 strikeouts. 4-3 USC.
 
Bottom 6th, Suchy has a wild pitch on a strikeout to the leadoff hitter who makes it to 1B. A double play removes the base runner as Suchy has a scoreless inning. 4-3 USC.

Bottom 7th, after a leadoff single, Suchy comes out of the game.

Shaw takes the mound.

With no out, the runner on 1B steals 2B. This is followed by a no out single which drives in a run. 5-3 USC.

With 2 out the runner steals 2B. This is followed by a double that drives in a run, 6-3 USC.

Shaw comes out of the game. Kyle Peters takes the mound.

A single drives in a run, 7-3 USC.

Lane throws out a stolen base attempt to end the inning.

Top 9th, with 2 outs, Lane gets a single, and Rispoli pinch hits for Padilla and drives in a run with a single. Rispoli steals 2B. Shpur gets a single to drive in another run.

USC wins 8-5.

In general, pitching isn't good enough yet and hitting isn't there. Feels like too many scoreless and 1-2-3 innings. Have we scored any first inning runs yet? Doesn't seem it.
 
not an easy stretch for a team struggling. Wheels could come off fast. The U next weekend ain’t gonna be a cake walk either

You would think that Pudvar is going to get a lot more pitching time in the coming weeks, he is one of the few UConn pitchers who is off to a good start to the season.
 
I hope that I will be able to post the whole game tonight. However, I am going to miss the game tomorrow.

As for today, I just got home just before the game started.

Bottom 2nd, Cooke gives up a leadoff triple that was misplayed by the UConn outfield. A ground out for the 1st out drives in the run to tie the game at 1.

Cooke leaves runners on the corners having given up a couple of singles after the run scored, game tied at 1.
