MBB needs to replace about 8-10 quality games on it's schedule to offset the losses of Gtown, Pitt, Syra, WVA, and UL. You'd be correct to notice the lack of other Catholic schools on the list. Gtown would play us home and home every year, Nova would too, Syr would play us at least once every year, Pitt and the rest would play us regularly. Losing the BB schools doesn't affect MBB as much as you'd think. Playing Depaul or playing Duquesne doesn't make one bit of difference. Harvard's RPI will be higher than PC's most years and Temple's will be every year.
This desertion kills the BE name and any chance of a TV deal of substance. It's hurts FB from a perception standpoint, as if that could go lower. The blessing of this is that it finally forces the administration to act. If in 18 months, we are aligned with the FB remnants as an all-sports conference, they will all be fired.
