Bottom 4th, Jimmy Wang coming in to pitch after a leadoff hit by pitch.

Too many plays not completed on defense make a big difference. A few that are coming to mind the blooper that was in the air way too long between 2B and RF the other day, pitchout when we guess right but no throw, a double play not completed today leading to two unearned... none of these are "E" but..... just not a strong defensive team, maybe one or two of the eight could be considered average or better.... makes it very tough on pitchers if they don't K K K K K.....

Bottom 4th, a single brings in another run for Coastal. 8-3 Coastal. Runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out now.

I know we get limited information on baseball players, but we haven’t seen any of Lucas, Angus Mayock or Willis yet this year. Are they hurt?
Jones just said that Willis and McBryde (Fr.) are recovering from injuries and Willis is close to being back.

Chris Brown makes a diving catch with the bases loaded to end the 4th inning, 8-3 Coastal.

Heck of a play to end the inning by Brown. Down 8-3, could be worse. This feels like a mid week game.

In past seasons, your fourth starter would be used in a midweek game. This might foreshadow Sunday games this season, of course UConn won't be playing them in the Coastal bandbox.

Surprised we did not get called for batters interference on that Stock steal.

Bottom 5th, Jimmy Wang starts the inning still on the mound. He gives up a leadoff single and walk, Colby Dunlop coming in to pitch.

Hopefully Colby can have a bounce back outing here. His stuff out of the pen would be great to have if he can be consistent.

I would be inclined to try to keep him to one inning in most of his relief stints. It might not be possible today, but it is a thought for the future.

Chris Jones says the only pitcher who travelled this weekend who has not been used is Kenny Campbell. Of course, that doesn't include regular position players Crawford and Stock.

It would be nice to see what Kenny has got today

Bases loaded hit by pitch makes it 9-4. A single brings in another Coastal run.

This is ugly. In addition to some people not getting the job done, I don't understand where some of the depth we had going into the system went. Where are Lucas, Mayock and Willis? Yes, they're obviously not in South Carolina, but why haven't we heard boo about any of them?

Posted above... Willis has been injured and is close to coming back. Jones said earlier in the inning the other two are just limitations of the travel roster.
