Need some mojo today... somebody needs to spark a 🔥

Coaches in interviews and tweets in fall ball and preseason mentioned more than once that Simmons is a great defensive outfielder.

With both Kyler Fedko and Chris Winkel striking out in about half their at bats, that is some come down in offensive production from the truncated 2020 season when both were terrific offensively. That's a lot of offense disappearing right there. Can definitely understand Penders benching both of them at this point given how they have done. Hopefully, at some point during practice sessions the two of them will start to change their ways at the plate.

Top 2nd, Ferrer with a one out solo homer to make it 2-0. First homer of his UConn career! The coaches and Chris Jones have been calling him a natural hitter all along. Just needed to improve his defense to get out in the field.

Yeesh...this inning is turning into a mess. Let’s go Austin!

Austin should have been out if it. The ground ball play was a tough play but that drop cannot happen. Ferrer and Simmons will presumably improve with more playing time on defense.

Coastal’s first hard contact of the inning goes right into a glove, so no damage.

Other than the pitch in which he plunked the kid, the breaking ball is looking very good today.

Probably too early to be saying it with it just being his second start, but I suspect Peterson is a keeper for the weekend starting rotation.
With four game weekends predominantly going forward, I don't see why he wouldn't be
