UConn/Cinc on ESPN 5pm 12/29... does this change in broadcasting mean our women are getting the respect they deserve?

No- it's just further evidence, if any were needed, of the favoritism shown by a Connecticut company to the benefit of UConn WBB.

And it isn't a change that I can see, was on the ESPN list I printed before the season. Probably somewhat related to the AAC's deals, whatever they may be.

Whatever, I am just glad it's going to be shown.

My printed schedule says ESPNU, as well as the women's basketball media guide. Also, the California game was originally slated for ESPN2. Per media guide.

I see it listed for ESPN on my TV guide. My printed list only had the games, not the specific station. I'm sure that they select the station based on what they expect will both fit in and attract the most viewers / revenue.

UConn games tend to have a good size live crowd with lots of fan noise = good for the telecast. UConn has some of the most on the floor dynamic players - Moriah, KML Bria and above all Stewie - and UConn's defense produces lots of turnovers and blocks which are also good TV theater. The final score may be ugly, but the game will not be.
