This has been true both years. As a freshman, Nika may not have mastered the point yet -- she didn't shoot enough to open up passing lanes, and she occasionally flashed into the lane only to pick up her dribble and have to look around desperately for help. But this year, she seemed to have addressed both issues. She made herself into a credible outside shooting threat and a heady passer. And she somehow managed to ratchet up her defensive intensity a little higher. Her set shot takes a moment to unfold, so she could work on that for next year. But she has made wonderful progress.Agreed! Paige is more of a combo guard while Nika is more of a true point guard. That’s also why you have the option to play them together rather than being limited to them subbing off for one another. When Nika is in, Paige can play more off the ball and is relieved of some ball handling duties.
