The Huskies own a 5-8 record, with all but one game being on the road. According to WarrenNolan.com, the Huskies have the seventh-hardest schedule at this point in the season. The team is top 100 in the country in batting average (.292), slugging percentage (.460), scoring (7.9 runs per game) and home runs (20), but their team ERA of 7.51 is sub-200.

Tyler Minick leads the team with a .436 batting average, six home runs and .974 slugging in 10 games.

Oliver Pudvar is making his third start on the year, and Cayden Suchy is slated for his first start in his sixth appearance on Saturday. Brady Afthim has had a strong start to the year out of the bullpen. He's pitched 7.2 innings in five appearances thus far, with 10 strikeouts, five hits and no earned runs.

Apparently Ian Cooke is not getting a start this weekend. Can't say that is a big surprise considering he hasn't done well so far this season. I'm wondering if Cooke will be a candidate to get a start in upcoming midweek games.

Resetting the rotation is not a bad idea w/ midweeks @Duke & UNC bearing down on the HookC. Wondering if travel roster/bullpen changes. Big 5 games for resume brewing.

Last year Cooke turned the corner after sitting for a bit and then coming in for a long relief role. I’d be shocked if he got another start before pitching competently in a less pressured long relief role.
 
I hope there’s more clarity from the coming week. Can’t be doing pen games into BE play.

He did have a good start against Duke in first round of tournament but Cooke mostly feasted on Big East last year. His performances in OOC were mostly underwhelming and here we are again

Wolff and West did not make this trip. I believe Galusha ,Spirito, Finn and Peters did.

Suchy and Pudvar seem to be improving everytime they go out. Hopefully that trend continues and we get Vandy Tommy.

That would be good, although it would not surprise me if Cooke gets to start again if he shows improvement as the season goes along like it happened last season. But we will see what happens.
 
Top 1st, the UConn offense has a scoreless inning after a 2 out single by Daniels, who is picked off for the final out. The other 2 outs were strikeouts. No score.
 
Bottom 1st, with Pudvar pitching, the first 2 batters get on base with a walk and a single. The runners both steal a base to move them both into scoring position with 2 out. Pudvar gets out of the inning with no runs coming in. No score.

Top 2nd, the UConn offense goes down in order with 2 strikeouts, 4 strikeouts total so far for the game. No score.
 
Bottom 2nd, Pudvar gives out a 1 out walk, and then picks off the runner for the 2nd out. Pudvar has a scoreless inning. No score. Pudvar has thrown 30 pitches so far.
 
Top 3rd, Biller leads off with an infield single, and with 1 out steals 2B. A scoreless inning for the UConn offense, no score.

After a ground out, Rispoli is hit by a pitch which puts runners on the corners with 2 out. Minick follows driving in a run with a single, 6-1 UConn.

Bottom 6th, Pudvar hits the leadoff batter. With 1 out the runner steals 2B and advances to 3B on a throwing error by Lane. Pudvar strikes out the next 2 batters. 6-1 UConn. Pudvar now has 8 strikeouts for the game, and has thrown 100 pitches. I'm thinking this might be it for him in this game, Chris Jones thought this as well.
