Bottom 4th, S. Quigley has a 1-2-3 inning. Game tied at 1. Quigley at 71 pitches so far.
 
Top 5th, Tammaro leads off with an infield single. Tammaro is thrown out trying to steal 2B for the 2 out. A scoreless inning for the UConn offense. Game tied at 1.
 
Well, that was impressive. 2nd and 3rd with no outs, and Quinn gets three outs on 8 pitches, including two K's. 1-1 after five.

Bottom 6th, with 1 out 2 CBU batters reach base on a walk and a single. A 2 out RBI single ties up the game at 2. Quinn comes out of the game, Ellisen takes the mound. Ellisen retires the first batter he faces to end the inning.
 
Top 7th, UConn offense has a scoreless inning that ends on a double play. Game tied at 2.

Joe Cinnella takes the mound at the beginning of the bottom of the 7th inning.

Bottom 7th, after Cinnella gets the 1st out, he comes out of the game. Jack Sullivan takes the mound.

Sullivan with 2 strikeouts to end the inning. Game tied at 2.

Top 8th, after a lead off double for Morton, UConn offense loads the bases with 2 outs. Padilla draws a walk to bring in a run, 3-2 UConn. Dalena follows with an RBI single that drives in 2 runs, 5-2 UConn, with runners on the corners.

Minick comes in to pinch run for Padilla, and in a double steal he scores. 6-2 UConn. Padilla had some sort of injury.

Bottom 8th, Afthim takes the mound to start the inning. Minick takes over at 3B, Chris Jones says Padilla was having a problem with his leg, which is why he came out of the game.

Quick thoughts:
1) Great to see guys who struggled contribute : Dalena, Sullivan, Ellison , Kron,etc. has to help the confidence especially Dalena with 2 2-out RBI singles.
2) they took SQuigs out at the perfect time. No need to mess around with bullpen fresh. Quinn pitched well ran into some bad luck. threw well. Great diving catch by Simmons but he bobbled the ball and Daniels couldn’t scoop it Would have had him doubled off then CBU scored after that but they fought threw it.
3) left a lot of guys on base but kept plugging and Dalena got the key 2 out hits.
4) tammaro gets picked off a lot….wow
5) Afhtim for 2 innings love to see it. They learned from the UCSB debacle on the Saturday game. Don’t give them a sniff. Have a chance slam the door shut.
6) finish the cali swing 4-4 and take the series after starting 0-3. Makes for a much more pleasant flight home and confidence should be rising. Let’s see if they can build something now. Hopefully it’s starting to come together.
