Average score of each quarter:
Q1: UConn 22.1 to 12
Q2: Uconn 19.9 to 15.6
Q3: Uconn 22.5 to 14.3
Q4: Uconn 17.1 to 14.9

Geno made comments about the 1st and 3rd quarters being big for UCONN--he's right. On the flip side, Q2 and Q4 have been slight wins for UCONN, but not significants.

For reference, compared to last year, this team is a bit behind, but last year's squad was insane. Last year's quarter numbers were:
UConn............... 915 805 885 741 - 3346
Opponents........... 443 413 454 527 - 1837

The averaged winning 88 to 48 every night and on averaged, entered the 4th quarter leading 68.6 to 34.5. That is insane.

Right now, UCONN is winning by 'only' 25 per game at 81-56. The rest of the schedule should be smooth sailing, so I think by the end of the year they'll be around 32-35 ppg for margin of victory. They've accomplished this margin while playing 6 highly ranked teams.

Simple explanation for the quarter differential.

The startering 5 v the bench isn't close by ANY measure. The dropoff is glaring.

Anyone who puts together a detailed statistical analysis like this at 2 am has certainly earned the name "bballnut".

Keep it up.:)
