This team has too many quality hitters and starting pitchers to be 20-17 vs this atrocious schedule.

I do think this is the type of team that matches up well in a double elimination bracket…
Agreed, in a weird way this team feels better suited for the postseason than last year, despite the mediocre results. If our bats and starting pitching get hot together at the right time, they are plenty capable of beating some good teams

Don't think the UCONN staff thinks very much of Butler, Chris mentioned many times how the field was one of the worst in D1, they didn't have a radar gun, didn't have any accomodations for him, etc. Penders said he was happy no one got hurt cause the field is basically a hazard. Back to the friendly confines of Elliot.

BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week
Cayden Suchy, UConn, So., LHP (Sterling, Va.)
Suchy was sensational on Saturday, tossing a complete game en route to a 3-1 win over Butler. The sophomore lefty allowed just three hits and zero walks in the outing. Overall, he struck out 11 batters in the triumph to set up Sunday’s series clinching win. He surpassed 100 pitches in a game for a fourth time this season and third consecutive, throwing a career high 117. It also marked his third consecutive win on the mound. He has struck out 32 batters across his last 24.0 innings pitched, allowing just 10 hits and three runs, with one walk.
