The 4th annual Riverlights on the Houstanic Boat parade was tonight and some people made up a UConn boat. Pretty cool.

That's what all the racket was? I heard the boat horns all night and walked down to see the lights but I had no idea what it was.

Nice UConn boat!

proa??? Ich verste nicht...no comprende......I am able to misspelll words in many languages.

Love the sig photo

A proa is a boat that goes ahead in either direction. You basically tack and jibe by backing up.

To build one, you start with a trimaran (also known as a "monohull, with training wheels"), and you saw the aka off at the root and throw away the ama...

And then sail what's left over.

I see or prau, perahu, and prahu. Those would work however I was referring to two Vakas and no whimpy Amas. Shapely strong Vakas with symetrical lines. ;)

Where on the Housatonic was it held?

It started at the Moses Wheeler bridge under I95 and went to Knapps landing. I took the picture right near the Stratford Shakespeare Theater.
