Yes, 5 Tournament bids in a row for UConn. With this Tourney bid, UConn has now been in 9 NCAA Tournaments since and including the 2010 season. This includes 5 at large bids. UConn has missed only 4 Tournaments in this time period. Overall this is quite an achievement for any school, but is really something for a team not in a P5 conference.

Obviously, would love to see UConn continue building on this record in the future, no matter what conference they are in.

Condron Family Ballpark on the campus in Gainesville is gorgeous. I was fortunate to go there a few years ago in a game vs Vandy and Jack Leitner. It rivals AAA ballparks. Should be good experience for the UConn team although getting through the lineup of Florida will be tough if UConn plays them. I was hoping for Miami, once Boston was not select as host, which reminded me of tournaments of years past with Maine also being there.

Also, in this time period, as many people here no doubt know, UConn hosted the 2010 Regional in Norwich, and has made it to 2 Super Regionals, in 2011 and 2022.

At least it looks like we’ll be the game on ESPNU instead of relegated to only ESPN+!!

Seems like an admission on the mothership’s part that we’ll bring in viewers along with TTU.
To be clear, I will find a way to watch

If it’s on plus, I should be able to provide a link close to game time for those that don’t have acess. Don’t forget, though, that ESPN probably has a free trial that could be tried.

->“It’s an awesome feeling,” said Luke Broadhurst, who won a Division III national championship with Eastern Connecticut State University last year before transferring to UConn. “You never get tired of seeing your name up on the screen and having the chance to play for a national championship. “It starts now. It’s a blessing.”<-

->“In some ways, you can play freer and easier in the NCAA tournament,” Penders said. “The hard part is getting there. Not to say that Texas Tech is not going to be a difficult matchup for us in the first round, but the hard part is getting there. Now it’s survive and advance and play loose and have fun.”

The Huskies welcome the challenge and opportunity.

“It’s always nice knowing your college baseball season is going to go into June,” pitcher Garrett Coe said. “Nothing more we can ask. And we’re going to a great place like Florida and seeing the teams that we’ll see. We know we’re ready. I think this team is really good at addressing the task at hand and executing.”<-

->No. 2 Florida - The Gators are no strangers to running up the score, and although they don't lead the country in any one stat, UF is among national leaders in plenty of categories — slugging percentage (.555), home runs (116) and total runs scored (478).

The obvious headliner is Jac Caglianone, who has been stealing headlines all season long with his two-way play. At the plate, Caglianone has launched 28 homers and drove in 76 runs. Wyatt Langford gets on base in over half of his plate appearances and Josh Rivera is always a tough out. <-

Initial thought is start SQuigs against tech and set up the possible moonshot Sears performance against Florida. Also Sears can potentially neutralize the lefties in the Florida lineup specifically Caglianone who can wreck a game on his own. Must beat Tech but gonna have to take some measured risks. We’ll see.

Just a very tough, not ideal draw. Not saying they can’t win. But committee put us on the wrong end of the S curve.
I was thinking the same thing, then the Committee chair says during the post reveal interview how he's not familiar with north east baseball and how they should adjust the RPI to reflect the challenges of northeastern schools.

If it's my decision, I give Coe the ball against Tech, both because he deserves the #1 slot off last week and because if he goes 5 or 6 innings on Friday he will be available for a final game on Monday if necessary. None of the other starters give you that. I agree with Sears in game 2, looking for his A game if it's Florida, and then Quigley in game 3. If we play 4, and haven't used him already, Ellison in a game 4, and the staff, looking like game 5 last weekend, if there's a 5th game.

Yes Coe is a fair point, Penders loves him and he’s got a hot hand. The only caveat I would have is how specifically Coe/Squigs match up specifically with tech. If it’s a push I can see Coe starting Friday.
