I assume this covers fiscal year ending June 30, 2025. If so, this includes the period where donors were encouraged to increase their donations to improve their standing in the seat relocation process. I think donors had until March 31, 2025 to make such donations. It will be interesting to see what donations look like for FY 2025-2026.

Yeh, you could probably reduce each students tuition by 3 or 4 dollars.

Wait until you see the amount of money Ohio State football and other football programs like it need to operate football at their level.

The athletic department received $32,320,822 in direct institutional support (meaning funding from the university) and $5,189,585 through student fees. Revenue included $18,759,358 from ticket sales, $20,234,250 in contributions, $2,724,750 from media rights, and $10,983,434 from royalties, licensing, advertisements and sponsorships.
On the expense side, the largest figure was $27,290,821 for coaches' salaries, benefits and bonuses. Support and administrative staff cost $16,143,903, while athletic student aid amounted to $14,665,170. Travel cost was $11,790,99

So basically our two biggest revenue items, tickets sales and licensing go to paying coaches salaries. That's mind-boggling. Does anyone know if the 2.7 million for media is what we get from the big east or is this a separate revenue item?

We get about that much, actually just a little less I think, as our distribution, but that includes our NCAA credits. I'm not sure where that number appears in the figures quoted above.

Did the Big East announce or confirm that? I only saw national media speculation on the amount. The Big East announcement was curiously without a dollar amount that I saw.

Have a good look at the student sport subsidy. Just divide that number by # of undergrads. If you have 25k undergrads with a $35m subsidy... That's $1k at least.

Did not see this conclusion coming. Have any Big10 or sec schools cut tuition thanks to their 100+ million in athletic revenue? That’s a rhetorical question of course.

It's confusing because we got 8.2 million from the Big East for FY 2024 and I'd expect the 2025 year to be similar or better. I don't know where that figure is in these categories, because it doesn't seem to fit neatly in any, unless it's included in the royalties, licenses, etc. section.

My guess is that 2.2 is separate, probably from selling lower tier rights. I think our media is worth around 5 mil from the Big East.
