UConn Assistant Coach Salary Pool...

I know Brown made around $350,000 and Cersosimo makes around $175,000

More money, security longer than 1 year, and coming off a good season with next season not looking so good. Should have seen thing coming. Maybe not the BC part, but anyone would have left for a better offer.

I agree. Don Brown was due a heck of a raise, enough to make him hang up the phone when BC or anyone else called. In hindsight, I think they were our only real competition for his services (after all, he left an ACC school to come to New England to be with his family) and it was plainly obvious that there would be defensive changes there after the terrible season they had.

We should have seen this coming and found another $150,000 or so to throw his way.

Acoordinator making only $350k is a joke by the standards of any top level BCS program. Most quality DCs in the B1G or SEC make well over $500k, with somemaking more than $1 mil. Just another area where the school is cheap. That strategy sure does seem to b3 serving them well.

Brown had an easy decision to leave. He is 57 years old and may have only been at UConn for 1 more year. By going to BC, he probably gets 3 to 4 years and he gets to stay in New England.

Unless we get this whole conference thing settled and get a good tv contract, coaches salaries are going down and not up. Only the US government is allowed to take in less revenue and increase spending.

If you go to payrolls and then Colleges and Universities you can perform a search function.

It shows for 2011:

Don Brown: $200,000
Cersosimo: $175,000
DeLeone: $272,000
Wholley: 138,000
Foley: 190,000
Perkins: 169,000
Hughes: 231,000
Clayton White: 124,000

Ahh... the old undisclosed position category. Thank you very much!

hank-keep him
white-im ok with him right now

I was saddened by Brown leaving, but my guess is he is not the last to go this year.

Foley got a raw deal from these guys and my guess is that he is searching. He has to get his name back.

Quiet down! The last thing we need is you giving WM the idea that GDL deserves a raise

I think we might see a big departure from our Edsall hold overs. I was always surprised at how many stuck around. I hope I'm wrong but if P brings in some putz as DC and keeps Hughes on as a Dline coach or whatever, why would he stick around if given a decent offer elsewhere? Pretty much all of the Edsall holdovers received a drop in responsibility when P came in, can you imagine how they feel watching this thing they spent a decade building being mishandled by the new guard?

It's just business, and they see it all the time. I was happy to see PP keep them all on. I had hopes for much better results the past 2 seasons. I can't put it all on the coaches though. We lost some key players from the previous year. I'm just stumped that we can't find a better RB than Lyle in 2 years. I'm sure he's a tough little guy, but he's what 5'8", 165#? And without breakaway speed. We had a full stable of very good runners, and now nothing.
