UConn Announces Jason Candle as New Head Football Coach (Updated)

Sorry - I am reposting my post from the other thread since that thread was just closed.

What a week. This is a great morning, let's freakin go UConn nation. Mora did amazing things for us, but he didn't quite have his heart in Huskyland. AD David Benedict probably grew tired of the ever increasing Mora maintenance and so he slow played the CSU counter and rolled the dice. But the dice AD David Benedict threw were loaded, he knew this time around we'd have options. Well played AD David Benedict.

Not trusting anything until candles tweets @petethamel

This is great to hear as well. I wonder if there's a chance the "robust salary pool" is enough to bring his DC along with him?

This tweet might even be more important than the Candle tweets. A guy that covers college football for something called the "NIL Wire" mentioning that UConn is increasing our NIL pool and revenue share yet again, on top of a robust salary pool for staff.

I don't know much about Candle other than what I've read over the last 48 hours, admittedly. But if he's as solid as coach and recruiter as I've heard, and if he has the resources to do it even better now, we're gonna punch some people in the mouth...

I just followed Coach Jason Candle and saw that Victor Rosa is also following him. I'd imagine some of our former recruits might be thinking "wait, I switched to csu but now UConn is getting Candle? hold on a second..."

I think the "re-recruitment" of our current players is gonna be in good hands now, based on everything I've read. I'm fully expecting most to come back, especially with the uptick in NIL...

Plus Coach Candle has a great recruiting class of his own so I expect some recruiting going on there. UConn is going to get a huge bounce out of this hire!!!
