There's a chasm between those who create and those who emulate. Adopting the habits of a successful enterprise does permit some early success which gives the appearance catching up but what happens if the copycat takes over the lead? Can the erstwhile follower be a successful leader? That certainly isn't a given. Leading takes a whole different skill set than following.
