That makes sense to me.

I could see Stafford making the back end of a roster. Not the best size, but his height (or lack thereof) will only be more effective against taller NFL OL, plus his high motor and experience on special teams.
Not to get over-excited, but Jelani Stafford's build really reminds me of Aaron Donald

AD coming out of Pitt = 6'0 - 285
JS coming out of UConn = 6'1 - 300

honestly if he honed his body, with his motor I could see him becoming a stud.
He'll fly under the radar so UDFA but raises tons of eyebrows during camp and pre-season. He could turn into something special.

On another note, way too many huskies with unrealistic hopes, have declared for the draft.
Is this common practice across FBS? just tonsssssss of declares? like how many of these declares actually make it to the pre-season? not even daring to ask how many make a 53-man roster.

I think it's jumped up in frequency this year, but it's a harmless way for the kids to say thanks and maybe get a smidge of exposure; while the Program can also get a little pub with this trickle of another Husky declaring for the league day over day, give other recruits and the media a thought of "wow, UConn seems to have a ton of NFL prospects; maybe I/we should take them seriously"

Going to be very interesting to see who can turn some heads at our pro day. I think in addition to Lundt being an eventual draft pick, I could see Senn, Dixon-Williams, Stafford, Wright, and McDonald having the potential to boost their stock with impressive numbers at pro days. All of whom I imagine would have pretty solid film if scouts do their jobs...

He wasn't the fastest guy on the field, but he had awesome hands. Every time we threw to him on 3rd and long (even 3rd-and-desperate), he came down with the catch. I hope someone in the NFL finds a way to use this fella because he catches everything...

I watched quite a few games pacing behind the red line with Mr. Buckman, really solid guy. I wish Brett nothing but the best, kid played hard every snap and I wish we could have gotten him the ball more often.
