UConn and the 2024 NFL/CFL Drafts

Superb info here. Has a Haynes as the 47th best prospect in the draft. Has Watts as a 5-6th rounder (DE and OLBs in one column).

-> "I think he's a second-round pick," UConn third-year coach Jim Mora said. "I've had several teams reach out, more character references than anything. They can evaluate him as a player very, very well off the film. They call you for character references: what kind of guy he is, how does he work, how does he get along with the team, is he a leader? And when you talk about Christian Haynes, it is very, very easy, because he is as good as I have ever been around in all those categories."

"I think he is going to be a really good NFL player for a really long time. I'm excited to see what happens. It sounds to me he will be a second-rounder. The thing about the draft is you never know because it just changes. Every pick changes the complexion of the rest of the draft." <-

I am pretty sure two are drafted this week. With Haynes going in round 2 or maybe early round 3. Watts will be drafted and my guess is the 6th round and maybe a little earlier due to his length and overall size. He would be good in the 4-3 defense.

The others like Mitchell, Noel, and maybe the others will get invites to camp, and a couple signed as free agents

Haynes is gonna be a beast like Beatty was hopefully unlike Will he stays healthy

Neither Beatty or Peart were beasts in the NFL. They were serviceable backups which is GREAT, but i believe Haynes will be better than both. I think Van deMark could be better than those guys too.

Beatty was a starting left tackle who's career was derailed by injuries. At his best, he was a top 5 tackle in the league.

And he won 2 Superbowl rings.

Top 5 tackle? Wow. I never remember him being on that level. Always felt he would get overpowered on bull rushes. He was hurt a lot.

100% hurt a lot. Only had 2 healthy seasons. But remember, he was going against Justin Tuck and OSI everyday in practice.

2011 started 11 then detached retina.
12 healthy
13 healthy - broke leg last game of season
14 tore pec and that was the beginning of the end

I don’t know if he was ever a top 5 tackle, but he was definitely closer to that than his is to peart as a player. The giants gave him a 5/37.5 contract after his rookie deal. Peart just signed for 1/1.3 after his rookie deal.

Cranky back issues, remember sitting behind his massive family at a home game and we were talking bout it
