Wow. Well the good news is that the Indy 500 was good and there was a little golf to change the channel to. I sure wish that wasn't nationally broadcast on ESPNews. Just a terrible showing by the boys. Every time I went back to the game it was worse, even when it couldn't get worse.

Maybe this will motivate the boys like the 40 point loss to Louisville in the season finale before the 2014 title run

Scratch Dodd Stadium in Norwich. Probably get sent as a 2 or 3 to the home of one of the top 3 teams in the tourney

After doing some research, it appears that this game will indeed only count as one loss.

We're probably a 2 seed in a powerhouse regional.

Some bubble team is really pissed as Cinci potentially takes their spot. Maybe UCF. Guess they should have won.

I was thinking about this while grilling. UCF or Houston. The odd irony of a team potentially stealing a bid from a team or teams in the same conference. Haven't checked yet what else happened today, but it will be interesting to see if the AAC gets more than three teams into the NCAA tourney.

Our offense has been fine vs their best pitcher. Kersten just didn't have it today.

This was the ultimate disaster scenario for UConn today. Penders has developed a lot of trust in Kersten, so he stayed with him longer than he would some others such as Jimmy Wang. And let's face it, Penders has only trusted two starters this season, Kersten and Feole. Kersten when on can just eat up innings. When he is off, he can serve up a game like this. So Kersten is kept in the game waiting for him to come around, and it gets worse. Eventually go to the bullpen and hope the next Colby Dunlop like appearance shows up. Only this time, the pitchers who are simply not that consistent are all having bad days. And what a bad day it was for them.

It all made for a wonderful day of grilling as our friends asked us what we had playing on the radio, and what the score was.

Heading to work for 1500-2300. Will be down on updates till I get situated. Someone come out of the pen since @dbmill bailed on the #HookC to flip burgers. ;)

Burgers, dogs, kielbasa, chicken, some assorted hockey pucks, and a few other odds and ends. Not sure if those hockey pucks tasted any better than what was happening in Florida today.

I suspect that UConn put the host bid in to the NCAA sometime in April. By the time the bid it was made public through Dom Amore several days ago, it seemed to me to be very unlikely that it would happen, even if UConn had a shot at playing ECU in the AAC tourney. There was just too much ground to make up. You don't go from being a team on the brink of the bubble just after the South Florida series to hosting an NCAA regional just in a blink of an eye.

Well, it wasn't as if Avery Santos was relied upon last season, as he was coming off of Tommy John surgery. As for this season, at the beginning of the year the top three in the bullpen were considered Wallace, Dandeneau, and Gardner, with Santos the most likely hope to emerge as the next guy behind them. He got early opportunities, but It just never happened for him. He was never really effective against solid teams, and ended up moving to the back of the pack in the pen.
