UConn alums attending FDU game Wednesday

Based on a partial interview I heard, Diana said a whole lot of former players will be there on Wednesday. Imagine all the food and wine that might be served at the Auriemma's afterwards.

During the UNC broadcast, it was shown that Geno and CD coached 160 players in their 39 years (I believe that the ceremony is to celebrate the start of the 40th season). 40 - 60 should be a cool representation.

For those of us who don't get SNY and watch games on the Fox app, I know Fox won't show the ceremony. Any idea if Uconn+ will show it or will I have to wait til the next day for someone to post it here.

Although this is "before my time," I'm pleased to see Laura Lishness and Kelly Schumacher attending. I was under the impression that each of these women had largely disassociated themselves from the program. Of course, times change and people change.

The reunion reminds me of the movie “A League of Their Own”. Of course, UConn is in a league of its own. They did something like this a number of years ago but I can’t remember the event or the year. There were a number of group photos taken and posted on the UConn website and in the Boneyard. Hopefully someone will provide a key to who is standing or sitting where.

I don't think Stewie is in Europe since she and Collier started the Unrivaled League which I believe starts in January. Tuck works for the Sun so she should be in town. Is the list somewhere because I haven' seen one as yet?

Looking at that list from twitter, 1982-86: Audrey Epstein Polinsky, Diane Poletti-Metzel, Peggy Walsh Meyers and a year younger, Jenifer Weidman Jomard. It's been so long ago, but here are four former UConn players, who actually experienced playing with a coaching staff prior to Auriemma/Dailey, and of course the infancy of the new era of basketball greatness. Almost certainly they have some stories to tell!

It's impressive when you realize that over half of them are national champions and nearly 1/3 of them are Olympic gold medalists and/or All Americans.

It is scheduled to be on the UConn+ app for 6:30. Hopefully there won’t be “technical difficulties”.
