UConn adds walk on Matt Garry

He's been a manager the past few games. Interesting add near the end of the season. Maybe we will go with 3 Walk-ons next year?

They had a kid, Matt Wheeler, who was a practice player dress for one game two years ago when they had all those injuries

I believe so. Happy for the kid. I'd be thrilled. Maybe a new post game thread like walk-on briefs or something original like that!

You can have 89864 walk ons if you want. Akok is not a walk-on because he was recruited. Yakwe is still on the roster even if our for year.

Oh, so since he is recruited, do you think that Hurley will start playing him soon?

My guess is this is just a product of Yakwe going down and a kid working is tail off in practice and doing everything right rewarded with a walk on spot which I imagine he will maintain for 3 more years. Good for him.

And, on top of playing baseball for UConn, walking on for JC may have further helped enable getting in the door for a successful sports/entertainment career. Winning!
