nuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut joooooooooooooooooooooooob!
You have to feel a little for Aresco (not too much, he does make a million a year). He put together a really competitive sports league, but he has no chance to even have his schools even show a modicum of respect for their respective conference. In this regard he probably appreciated Sue Herbst approach.

We were relegated into this league, some of these schools that practically begged to get in to the American , yes looking at you Memphis, UCF, and Houston, publicly pleading to get into the big 12 show him and this league no respect.

Well, Connecticut residents have voted for House and Senate Representatives to represent the state and make alliances for multiple factors. Not saying conference realignment should be foremost on the minds of voters, but the overall congressional delegation's ability to advocate for the state is dependent upon who Ct. residents vote for in elections. Choices have implications.
I want to like this post but Connecticut is typically a pretty liberal place. No way in hell this state would elect people that would rub elbows with Texas type politicians.

Malloy's political appointee being a former employee of the insurance businesses she's supposed to be regulating, while her husband and other relatives still work there, refusing to recuse herself from reviewing a merger that would create the largest insurer and basically make a monopoly, sounds like a Texas way to run things to me.

Sorry for the awkward run-on sentence.

True, but how do Texans feel about transgender bathroom issues?

Oh good, another new thread.

Oh no, someone made a thread about conference realignment in the conference realignment board. I forgot that we're only allowed to post in Flug-approved Non-Key-Tweet threads.

This whole fiasco with Texas political figures and university heads giving support to UH is evidence that public lobbying and being a "go getter" in this regard is better than the "let's not annoy them" approach we are taking.

Right now UH is winning the spotlight and getting people talking so much that most casual fans have it as a foregone conclusion that they will be included in expansion.

Yes, the "let's not annoy them" approach really worked well for us with the ACC the last time around. We sat on our asses and watched Northern Kentucky Community College maneuver their way into the ACC instead of us.

"You have to remember, a few years ago we were dealing with a conference (Big East ) which we lost 7 schools (in basketball) didn’t have a name, didn’t have an arena to play our conference tournament and we worked it out.”

It's not like that materialized out of thin air. Wasn't he the commissioner who sold those rights?
