Opener.

Like the Gtown game it's a lot of points but if we shoot at our typical clip it should be 25 to 30 point game.

Might have that covered in the first half. The respective winning and losing streaks total 23.

24.5 seems...about right. We won by 29 at home. Going on the road is worth about a 6 point swing. We didn't have Clingan the first time but given how much we won by I doubt that's a huge effect here.

A spread of 30 is around what we got for home cupcake games, and DePaul is right in that range on the metrics.

I wouldn't feel comfortable betting either side of this. Any of these outcomes is possible:

A) We sleepwalk through the whole game en route to an unimpressive 15 point win, never covering
B) We romp from the outset, lead by 25 at halftime and push it from there, winning by 40 with the spread never in doubt in the second half
C) We get out to a quick 20 point lead but don't really expand it and fail to cover despite the game being over after 5 minutes (basically Georgetown redux, but on the wrong side of the spread)
D) We sleepwalk through the first half, lead by 6-10, but then go nuts in the second half and end up winning by 30

Seems right. For the time since 1988 I got game day wrong. Sat down last night thinking the game was starting at 9 until I looked at the schedule. Causal fan moment. Ugh

-24.5 has to be one of the highest spreads for a big east game where the road team is the favorite. I wud go one step further and say it has to be one of the highest spread ever for any in conference P5 game on road.

I have a dilemma. My wonderful wife has been gone for almost 3 weeks and she is returning this evening. I am sure she will want to spend some quality together which probably won’t include us burying DePaul. What to do?

Officiating, starter minutes and freshman run are all variables…..
Our freshmen are significantly better than their starters, especially since they have no real coach.

DePaul is playing like the 322nd team post-coach firing. Which is roughly equal to Arkansas Pine Bluff, who we beat by 38 (albeit at home).

And we're playing better than we did when we first played them without Clingan and they're missing probably their best guard who they had for the first game. Torvik makes the line UConn -31 if you take the teams post their coach firing.

I’m not arguing for or against the line, just saying that Hurley will likely rest guys in the 2nd half like the G’town game when we only outscored them by 1pt.

If you don't watch this game and they lose, you know you're never going to be allowed back here, right?

Problem with games like this is you just don't know how hard they are going to play at the end. Not that I believe a loss is possible but it is a big number. The back door cover for DePaul could be in play.

I’d like to see Stewie more involved in the offense tonight and not hanging out at the 3 point line.

Placed $100 in bonus bets on over 181 total points. Spring break isn’t going to pay for itself!

All right folks. I have a Draftkings insured parlay on:
UConn Over 40.5 1H
UConn -14 1H
DePaul +24.5

Basically, we get out to a fast start and kind of coast from there

Game should pretty much be over by halftime. This team is not fooling around this season. This is different.
