Another great stat project, try to correlate success at UConn with prior game experience. I’ve looked at it as a plus, in that Candle et al are confident and committed to their developmental abilities/ philosophy. Your concern about fewer plug and play guys may be well founded. We’ll know in 10 months or so

Clearly true, and it is a philosophy I wholeheartedly agree with. I get UCFB's question though. Just look at Murawski and Edwards heading to MSU. I don't know their personnel at all, but I'd think if we were to play MSU next year, we'd face Murawski plowing the road for Cam. Do we have any additions that we can expect to do that for us in 26? Again, I'm all about program development, and long term investment, but UCFB's question will be answered on the field in the fall. Can't wait!

happy for him - wished so bad it had worked out at UConn but he just could not re-capture his freshman season magic. We were also a much worse team then offensively, which gave him more opportunity. I think ultimately he ended up where he deserved to be on our list. Too bad, but 100% best wishes in Ohio. Every kid should pursue their dream. His time here was up, and I mean that in the most sincere and well-wishing way.

Article contains this paragraph: Edwards and Brown entered the transfer portal along with Rosa, and Edwards announced this week that he will be transferring to Michigan State. Brown has followed Jim Mora to Colorado State, so the Huskies lose all three of their top running backs. Their fourth-leading rusher, Oliver Lundberg Coleman (23 carries, 138 yards) is returning.

Don't know if the author missed Lundberg Coleman going into the portal, or if he has confirmation that LC is coming back next year.
 
Next years backs are going to have a pretty decent line to run behind I think. I’ll wait to hear Chin and RSTuthill’s initial eval, but I like we are returning Chan and a bunch of new big kids!

Ohio Univ. football is a mess after the past two coaching changes. Poor budget management and support for D1. But, they win the MAC most years and should again this year. He might be looking for a conference championship. Something we sorely lack access to.

We need to sell ourselves as a developmental program for NFL until we find a home.

Hate to see our guys leave but its also nice to see some PWOs already getting opportunities elsewhere (FCS level) instead of waiting things out till the very end

unimportant detail but regarding our traitor children announcing their CSU commits, i notice some of their twitter post photophop jobs keep the MW logo, others put the Pac-12 logo, and others put a strange/cooky version of the Pac-12 logo. wonder who is making these images, if not CSU social media team. odd inconsistency.

I really know nothing about any of these incoming players and I'll be investing zero energy in watching film, nor do I have any inside info.

Here's what you get from me today, in March, and end of August- With a new coach, new system and NIL, it's going to be mid-October before we really know what we got.

If we are two games in to the season and us fans can accurately evaluate with certainty the quality of players Candle brought in for his system, UConn is going to be really, really good, or really, really bad.

On the offensive side, I think UConn has a solid foundation for next season. Candle is basically the OC and he brought his former QB coach/co-OC with him. Plus, UConn got the QB with 2 years in the Candle system who looked to be the starter for Toledo for next year and had a solid game against Louisville in the bowl. And, Candle got one of his RBs, 5 WRs, and 4 OL, so there is a core group of players that know what he wants to do and how to do it. Returners Chan and McLaughlin should be starters on the OL. TE looks like we need more bodies. Will the offense be better than last year? I don't think so, but I think the offense will be OK.

The key is going to be defense. I was disappointed in the defense last year, but the D had lost a ton of talent that really wasn't adequately replaced through the portal and through player development. I do like what Candle has done with the DL and at LB, but the secondary seems thin right now.

Special teams? I'm not sure what we have at K or P.

There is more time to fill holes in the roster as Spring semester at UConn doesn't start until January 20th.

I agree. The OL, WR, DL, and LB rooms have definitely been bolstered. Would like to see another experienced TE, RB, and QB. I hope our K/P is good. We obviously keep missing on DBs and there really isn't anyone left worth convincing to come back except Molette. So, I imagine that is an area of focus at this point.
