UConn 2026 Outbound Portal Transfers (*No transfer speculation until announced/posted*)

This is probably also a good time to remind folks that just because a player enters the portal, it doesn't mean they're gone. If the new coach wants him, he'll have to recruit him. For more on that, please review last year's portal with Skyler Bell, and how that resulted for UConn...

Mora's leaving changes everything. For someone like Rosa, it gives him another chance to have a real chance. He more than showed he can play at our level in 22. But we should expect that the vast majority of underclassmen will put their name in the portals because they have no idea today what the future will be here. The only sane thing to do is keep all options open until a new coach is in place and you can talk to him and your teammates.
 
If there was one person that would benefit from Mora leaving, it would be Rosa.

So of course he's the first one to enter the portal

It takes time for the paperwork to be processed by the school. This means he requested it before Mora leaving was announced. I guaranty Rosa will want to see who the new coach, whether CAm Edwards will be here next year and therefor what his chances for significant playing time will be.

This is exactly why UConn cannot drag their feet on this hire. With the whole portal process now, getting a new coach in immediately is needed to keep and get players. It not only needs to be a great hire, but one that needs to be done sooner rather than later.
 
I sure as hell hope we don't hire P again as therecis no way Rosa is a prototype.
 
Not surprised by Rosa. I wish he would stay but he's third on the depth chart next year. He's going to land somewhere and put up some good numbers.

Maybe some early huffing and puffing.

Rosa is better than third RB for a lot of teams. Hopefully he’s got his degree and finds a good spot.

I'll say this once and just copy/paste for all the inevitable future threads.

Worrying is useless. It will look worse up front, as it always does when a coach leaves and the players enter the portal.
Hire the right coach and things will be fine by March.

In the meantime, I'm not sweating any individual leaving. Only two players whose talent will be tough to replace are Bell and Fagnano and they aren't transferring, they are out of eligibility. Everyone else can be replaced
