I think the loss in the first game did UConn good as it made the hitters bear down for 9 innings. It made them realize that they can't just show up get a lead and coast into a win. Pitching helped as well with West leading the way. He knew what he had to do and got the job done. A big shout out to Penders and his staff for pushing all the right buttons and getting this team to play the way they are capable of.

Good question, considering UConn baseball never really established any continues midweek starting pitchers. My guess would be Jude Abbadessa, who did have some starts late in the season.

If we can get to the championship round, I still think Van Emon has something big

He will not pitch any significant innings the rest of the season. He has the yips and there’s nothing you can do this late in the year to fix it. Look at Rick Ankiel videos when it happened to him. Tough way to go out but that doesn’t just go away.

Sheesh I hope not. 9.00 ERA with almost a walk per inning. Abbedessa has had his challenges too but better than Peters who never really put it together this year.

I do not think Peters will get the start but he definitely did much better the second half of the season.
