i thought this was a pretty neat idea that Nebraska implemented this summer regarding their camps. They're holding "fan fests" during the camps and providing food/beverages, and allowing people to enter the stadium for free to watch the camps that are taking place. Would be cool if we had one of our camps where we encouraged our fans/media members to show up.

Nebraska football announces three free summer fan fests to 'show appreciation' to fans

The Huskers will host three free fan fests on consecutive Fridays this month, the NU athletic department announced Wednesday.

The first fan fest is set for June 16, followed by events on June 23 and June 30.

The two-hour events start at 5 p.m. and will be outside Memorial Stadium. Stadium Drive will be closed to traffic during the event, providing a safe and spacious area for fans of all ages.

The June 16 and June 23 fan fests are during the NU’s Friday Night Lights camp. The FNL events, which attract many of Nebraska’s top recruits and targets, are open to the public again this year.

All three fan fests are weather permitting and may be canceled in the case of inclement weather. There will be free parking on a first-come, first-served basis for all three events in Lots 5 and 8 on Salt Creek Roadway, located north of Memorial Stadium.

The fan fests will feature free food, appearances by former Huskers, unique photo opportunities, giveaways, games, music and more. Fans will also have a chance to purchase a limited quantity of 2017 season tickets, and the Husker Team Shop inside West Memorial Stadium will be open and available to fans wishing to purchase the latest Nebraska apparel.

The fan fests will be in addition to the annual Nebraska football Fan Day, which is scheduled for Saturday, July 29.

Santana Sterling is a 6-2 235lb LB from Mesa Community College in Mesa Arizona. Believe he's Class of 2018? but but unsure of eligibility. Originally was Class of 2014 when he graduated Hamilton High School in Chandler Arizona, headed to ASU then had intended gray-shirted yanked, then tried walking on in 2015, then ended up @ Mesa CC where he played last year.
