UConn -2.5 vs USF....

Usf will be a good measuring stick to see how the offense has improved. They have their act together more than Ucf but not as tough as Missouri or byu. If we can hang 28 on them would be a good sign

Wow that's pretty good. USF is no slouch. Three losses, but all relatively close games against three good opponents (Memphis, FSU, Maryland whose record is worse than talent level)

Why does this young man need a firearm..... on a college campus no less? Puts the rest of his life in jeopardy, to say nothing of the other lives he put at risk.

Just crazy.

Maryland is NOT a good team as evidence by the firing of Randy Edsall. They've been getting owned in B1G play and got waxed at home by Bowling Green and at West Virginia.

Also, the ACC with the exception of Clemson are a bunch of frauds, especially FSU. BC played a one score game against FSU, then proceeded to lost at home 3-0 to Wake Forest this weekend. Miami took FSU to within a score as well and they fell to Cincy.

All this being said, yes USF is very much improved, but I don't buy into the idea that because they beat a bad ACC school at home and hung tough against an overrated FSU team for a half that they are as good as being advertised.

Well one could make the argument that the three teams UConn beat are 3-15.

The three wins are Eastern Michigan, Delaware and Fordham.

So as bad as Syracuse and Maryland may be - UConn's victims have a grand total of ONE FBS win and actually have a losing record against FCS teams: 2-4. Two of the FCS losses are FBS teams that lost at home.

I'm pretty sure Delaware lost to Rhode Island this week - if you wanted to wrap your head around how bleak Nova/Army/UCF are.

I completely agree with that assessment. I am just not sold on the USF turnaround story based on what I've seen from them this season so far.

Thanks for popping my balloon. Spoilsport.

Didn't Nova's QB Robertson injure his knee a few weeks ago? Haven't won since.

Nova is a much different team since their QB got injured. I realize they aren't a powerhouse, but they are bleak, as you described them for a legitimate reason.

One thing that is evident is UConn is beating the teams that it should beat (Nova, Army, UCF). I'm hoping the weather turns colder this Saturday and the fans turn out to give us a true home field advantage over an improving USF team. I can't wait

It's football. Guys get hurt. They only beat Fordham by a FG before he got hurt.

Do I need to list the teams that lost their QBs and have held up against much tougher competition than Delaware?

It should go without saying that USF's win against Syracuse is far, far better than any win we've had to date. That having been said, there is a reason why UConn and USF are fairly close in computer rankings and neither is a top 80 squad if you use composite averages. They both are clearly better than last year. But they both have a lot left to prove in terms of beating quality teams.

Why? Because he's looking to transfer to an SEC school or Louisville. Needs the cred.

Recognize the conFLiCT champs!

USF fan, new to this board. I have been posting on your WBB board.

I was just curious as to whether you are CONFLICTED about having UCF as a rival?

I always thought that if UCONN was to take a Florida rival, especially in FB, that it would have to be USF, considering our historical record against each other. I doubt that either of us have played more competitive close games against any other school. The spread this week clearly reflects that historical fact, which is the game really is a pick-em with you getting the nod being at home:

SERIES: USF leads, 7-5

IN TAMPA: USF leads, 5-1

IN HARTFORD: UConn Leads, 4-

LAST MEETING: 2014, USF won 17-14 in Tampa

• Last 8 meetings between USF & UConn decided by average of 4.3 points.

As for USF and UCF, unfortunately, we are now conference rivals, but USF fans have never wanted a rivalry with UCF. Perhaps, because we considered our real rivals to be UF, FSU and Miami, in whatever sport we played them.

UCF, on the other hand has always wanted USF as its rival in all sports.

As for USF and UCONN, besides FB, we have had a much more competitive historical rivalry in most other sports, than you have had with UCF.

As such, given the choice, I would much rather have USF be the rival of UCONN than UCF, any day of the week. :p
