UConn -17 tonight | The Boneyard

UConn -17 tonight

I'm not saying it's a gimme.

No way am I taking my team as a home favorite at -17 in a conference game.

Can't imagine watching UConn play a decent game, control the majority of the game, avoid injuries, win by 16 and I lose money.

+17 is an easy pick. Nothing is a slam dunk, but this is almost certainly a +EV play.

People saw the Butler scores, figure "well, UConn beat Butler by 18 twice, and Georgetown has a worse record" and there you go.

Georgetown is better than their record, and our last score against Butler is actually pretty misleading.

I expect this to be played mostly in the 7-12 range.

Caesar's (from ESPN) has the line at 15.5.
Yeah, I can't find 17 anymore. Missed the boat.

Not picking on you, because I know this is tongue in cheek, but this was a funny example of the board lately just trashing folks like odds makers and particularly NBA scouts as if they have no clue how to do their job (granted it certainly seems that way sometimes)

Butler beat Georgetown by 14 on the road. Marquette beat Georgetown by 28 on the road. St. John's beat Georgetown by 19. Nova beat them by 11 on the road (add 6 for the home switch and you're at 17).

Providence only beat them by 8 but they basically never don't blow anyone out based on the way they play.

Adjusted for court, those are all 17+ home court margins except Providence. Georgetown has dropped 100 spots in KenPom so far this year.

Georgetown played Nova and Providence close in their last 2 games. Georgetown is 0-5 conference and pretty desperate here. Ewing’s job may be on the line. My concern is not the points but getting the freakin win.

That's how I feel about this. I watched some of the Nova game. Georgetown didnt look that bad for a good portion of it.

Are they good this year?

No.

Are they capable of putting a game together that can beat anyone in the league? Yes absolutely.

saw the moneyline this morning was like +1750, so if you bet $10, you are making like 50 cents on it. Doesnt seem worth the risk of a bad Uconn performance

I don’t care. I’m betting on a cover. GTown is legitimately terrible, Sanogo might have 30 and 15.

SJ smoked SH away last night. Anyone see that coming?

Absolutely could happen. I feel way better with the URI moneyline tonight though than giving 17.

Anyone? May want to start with someone first.

The game will be tight for a while and the 17 will seem like a gift. But in the end, the good guys cover.

I dont want to be the "first" . LOL. I mean you can tag the rest of this post for posterity if you wish. But Georgetown isnt going winless in league this year. And one of those wins will come against a team ranked far above them in KenPom or Torvik or whomever you want to use as your qualifier. They beat Cuse. Respect them for that.

Game is on CBSSports Network(?) which apparently will cost me $50 per month lol because I’m on some really low grandfathered rate with Spectrum from the time Warner acquisition so I can’t make changes. If anyone knows where to watch shoot me a PM.
