UConn -12.5 | The Boneyard

UConn -12.5

If we shoot the three well and DC stays out of foul trouble and gives us 25 minutes and if their PG does not play we will more than likely cover. Also wondering if Ball starts who covers Mgbako. That could be a matchup issue if it is Ball and not Stewart or Ross. Something tells me we are going to Singare today. We could pull off the smaller lineup and commit to doubling Mgbako if he is trying to post up a smaller defender, since they don’t shoot the three very well. Or let me say it for the first time of the year maybe we should play more zone today. Dan Hurley has already played more zone than he did through three games last year. They really have not played well this year and are beating cupcakes by less than ten points so we could beat them even if we play an ugly game. But for all the yarders who tend to see the bright spot, I do think this will be a game that we can create some confidence in that young bench. IU probably travels well but we should have the advantage on crowd support.

Without Castle I think it’s right there, but I’m feeling more about an 18 point victory. In the other game I’m taking Texas all day with that spread. They may win by 40

Spread, total, and ML all crashing this morning.

Spread is down to -12.5 -102 (i.e. may slip to 12 soon).
Total is down to 141.5 (I thought I saw 144 earlier).
ML is down to -800/+550 (was -1100/+675 last night, -1300/+700 early this morning).

Somebody thinks we're not going to score enough.

Edit: make that 140 for the total. I don't know if I've ever seen a CBB total move this quickly. Congrats to anyone who took Under 144 earlier.

Seems like Xavier Johnson is going to play, so i expect the line to move back towards where it opened

Is he considered a strong defender? I suppose that could explain why the total has plummeted.

Xavier Johnson announcement he is expected to play tipped the line heavily. 77% of the money is on UConn to cover the spread. FWIW IU has yet to cover a game this year (UConn is 2-1).

Seems like a lot. Same with the second game with TX -17. I’m inclined to take the points in both or find another game I can pair UConn moneyline with.
Providence -5 vs Georgia an interesting one to potentially pair up…

Plus, then if PC doesn’t cover we can all laugh at them because Georgia is not good.

For whatever it's worth Indiana beat Army by 8 (in a game that was one possession with under 4 mins)... The same Army team that lost by 13 to Stonehill (yes that Stonehill) a few days before.

Wouldn't be shocked if we win by 20+ even without Castle. Indiana is not good.

KenPom has us winning by 12.

Lay the 12.5 here. They're begging you to take Indiana and Bobby Knight or Steve Alford ain't coming through the door today. Never underestimate the impact of Madison Storrs Garden.

Deepster - 2-0 ATS (100%) so far this season

Congrats to those of you who followed the Deepster’s wise counsel.
