UConn +10 vs Virginia

Take the points. ignore the O/U.

Personally I'd put the hundo on UConn for the money (+380). Potentially hedge with the points.

Over + take the points.

I'd take the points, but I dunno about the over. Last year, UVA only scored 10 on us, and they lost their top offensive playmaker. Their offense basically employs the same philosophy as BD coached teams--chew up clock time, keep D off field and play a low scoring game.

.-.
I wouldn't touch this game with a flamethrower but I would not be comfortable taking UVA laying 10 to anyone save a handful of FBS teams. We ain't one them.

We won last year at home, 13-10. 10 points seems generous.

@whaler11 your thoughts?

I expected 7.5 or so. So I guess I'd lean towards +10. It's 10.5 at a few legit places (Bookmaker). Obviously that's a pretty significant half point.

I watched a decent amount of the IU game and UVa looked just awful.

But they do have the advantage of 2 games one against a pretty good FBS team.

Does two weeks of practice improve the 3-3-5?

2 weeks of practice and an extra week of rest for joseph and diggs. Hope defense looks better

I'd take UConn +10, but not comfortably. The line is too weird and feels like a trap.

I don't bet on sports much but this seems like a donut all or nothing bet not a hedge. You are only hedging a close loss. If VA covers you lose twice.

Maybe I'm wrong but if you think VA is going to win but not cover, you'd bet VA on the money line as a hedge.

If UConn wins outright (What I think is a strong possibility), you win twice. ;)

Be that as it may, I was in a meeting and wrote it fast without really thinking...

...on the other hand and in my defense, I never said who I'd take, considering the point. Just sayin'...

That's alright. I stand in front on the sports book desk feeling like Bruce Willis at the end of Die Hard 2 trying to remember what a "middle" is.

In this case it would be taking UConn and the points and VA on the money line, hoping for VA not to cover.

UConn wins this game outright. I'll put a hungry Husky up against a Dr Seuss character any day. The Hoos are hoorific.

Smart

Bronco has a big transition to make with this team. RE hit the ground running. I love us straight up or with points but realize there are more rational ways to approach the lines.

Take the points for UConn and the under in my opinion. Should be a relatively low scoring affair.

Trap? +10 seems insane...we won there last year.

UConn won at home last year, but UConn was drawing offensive plays in the dirt. Finally, Sherriffs recognized that Noel Thomas was open in the slot midway through the 3rd quarter and told him he was going to get fed 5 yard button hooks for the rest of the game...Oh and that interception too (Summers, I think?).
