The 1989-90 team was flat in the Alaska
shoot out and looked bad in a loss to Texas AM that dampened expectations for what became the Dream Team.A USC team being in South Eastern Ct for 5 days is more bored than travel weary.

When the lines are close, I like to lay a little action against UConn. No science behind it, just an emotional bet. If UConn wins, I'm happy to lose a few bucks. If UConn loses, at least I can make a little money to ease the pain.

I put USC ML (+104) in a 4 team parlay tonight with Iowa (-33), Florida (-6) and ASU (-6.5). Trying to maximize my potential returns if UConn does not win.

I’ve never bet against the good guys. That’s like shorting your own stock.
 
I’m staying away from this game. Especially in parlays and straight bets - ESPECIALLY early in the season.

I’ll roll out this 8 pt teaser perhaps:

I would throw Eastern Illinois on that too - they’re playing Chicago State who is the worst college basketball team of all time.

Same referees? Not saying it's an excuse, but our team is, as Dan said, "immature". We didn't adjust properly to the way the game was called.

I can't ever imagine being happy that we lose or hoping one of the good guys misses a shot in order to cover

I had a similar reaction to Hurley's comment on the presser yesterday, when he was talking about the Mohegan Sun operations and quickly re-phrased from "well-oiled entry" to "well-oiled machine in terms of entry". :eek:
 
Also surprised we are favored - I was thinking USC by 3, especially coming off that win against BYU and UConn not looking great Agsinst Hartford - maybe they think there will be fans in Mohegan and it’s a uconn Home game LOL

I'm not betting tonight. Just going to watch and be a super fan.

1 point wasn't enough. I was hoping it was like 3-4, so I could take USC with the points, and still root for us to win, but not cover.

Good article on Drew Peterson. If you watched the BYU game, he showed very high basketball IQ and extremely economical movement within the flow of their offense. He's probably a 2,3 star athlete with a five star head.
