This is not off the wall I truly believe.. Uconn could actually with the right sculptor and large block of granite create a beautiful and tasteful art piece with Calhoun, Geno and Danny staring into the future. It’s not going to be cheap but I think donors would get behind this, and it would create a focal point at a refurbished Gampel that would be the talk of college basketball.
Danny is already deserving with 2 titles and a future number 3 would lock this down.
I‘m ready for the jokes and taunts on this but I think it’s a very good idea.

Why just the coaches and no players?
Actually I would love the idea of players but then the debates are going to be extensive…..we have so freaking many.
Guys with multiple Nattys automatic? Jake?
Im sure you all can come up the player list but Newton is on there. KEA. This conversation would go for days.
But for now I think the 3 National Championship coaches are a lock. Please no KO jokes.

We are struggling for every nickel for NIL and to try to compete with the big boys. This would be like Jeff Spicoli saving Brooke Shields from drowning then blowing the reward money hiring Van Halen to play his birthday party.

Are you saying that wasn't a good idea?

Ragged Mountain, Meriden Mountain or West Rock would be perfect for this. Many more options too. Make it happen Ned
What about that rocky area across the street from Mansfield apartments that used to be a place for frat/sorority graffiti

Not exactly central location but it’s there

I like that since it's close to campus. But we really should be going bigger.

Another idea- one of the brownstone cliffs at the old quarries in Portland

A monument park like Yankee Stadium. Much cheaper and can be mobile when necessary.

Street sign and labor to put it up is what maybe a couple hundred bucks? That's enough

Hurley has a lot of work to do to be considered at the same level as Calhoun and Auriemma.
He's close already. back to back championships in men's college basketball. It is almost unheard of. How Calhoun and Geno built the programs from nothing may never be topped by any coach in basketball but Hurley's accomplishment is also historic.

Given Hurley’s NBA aspirations, I don’t think he will be in Storrs long enough to be thought of in the same vain as Calhoun and Auriemma.

Sculpt it out of ice cream and leave it in a giant freezer inside the Dairy Bar.

You didn't shoot an airball, but you bricked this one badly. I am not sure I can put anyone above Calhoun because he is the greatest program builder in college basketball ever. But winning back-to-back titles is quite the accomplishment and even moreso when considering UConn dominated in both years with top total point differentials in a 6-game NCAAT. Look at the link below. This year's UConn team never had a defensive possession where they were down by more than 1 possession.

Back to back, won every tournament game over both tournaments by 13 or more points, 4th largest tournament run margin of victory, 1st largest tournament run margin of victory. Of course he doesn't have the longevity and body of work Calhoun does but he's already accomplished things Calhoun and the other greats never accomplished.

Ya can’t go wrong with any of them. Hurley does have the genetics in his favor and sure has taken advantage of them.

Hate to sound ignorant, but who is KEA?

He’s 51 and maybe he actually enjoys it here? New contract, even better recruits coming. Sometimes an event like this is stabilizing. I think we get 4 more years minimum. The NBA sucks.

I don't think it's far fetched to think that maybe his nba dreams aren't as solid as they seem.
I know we think it's imminent because this particular saga is so fresh. But as this season goes on and we see him in his element, raging 10ft out of the coaches box, screaming in the huddle during the 4th qtr of a 35 pt. Georgetown blowout - the lakers will be a distant memory.
Don't believe me?
Lets See how many lakers/nba posts we get in January.
I'm with you 200% I don't think he has one foot out the door, but rather 10 toes...oh wait....too soon?
